An Edwardian gypsy ring made from yellow gold. The polished metal band is set flush with a central old cut diamond flanked by two oval blue sapphires, showing clear hallmarks inside the band and measuring 7mm at the widest point, tapering to 3.3mm at the base, sitting 3mm from the finger, with a weight of 5.63 grams and a size of O in the UK or 7 in the US. Suitable as a statement ring, a stacking ring, a pinky ring, or an alternative engagement piece. The design features a smooth tapered profile containing three flush-set stones against the golden surface, representing a classic example of early twentieth-century jewellery craftsmanship intended for everyday wear on the hand.

A gypsy ring is a style of band where gemstones are mounted flush into the metal band, creating a smooth surface without protruding prongs.

Edwardian gypsy rings were crafted using solid yellow gold, typically 15ct or 18ct purity, and set with precious gemstones such as sapphires, rubies, and hand-cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces feature official assay hallmarks stamped on the inner band indicating gold purity, origin, and date, alongside period-appropriate gemstone cuts such as old European or old mine cuts.

The low-profile and smooth design allows a gypsy ring to be worn comfortably every day, functioning either as a standalone piece or stacked with simple metal bands.

Wash gently with warm water, mild washing-up liquid, and a soft brush to clear buildup behind the settings, avoiding harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners.
