A late 19th century brass 'Harvard Student's oil Lamp' by Wild and Wessel, Berlin

The lamps are not made exclusively for Harvard University, but are appear to have been supplied for use in the student accomodation and/or library.

Most examples are now converted to electricity, this one is in its original condition, albeit lacking the glass chimney and shade. I like the dark untouched patination, it seems in keeping with its ancient design origins, however the lamp could be polished to a more typical brass colour.

Good untouched/unrestored condition.
