Leeds Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The stool follows the traditional early form, with a rectangular moulded top above a shaped frieze, turned supports, block feet and low stretchers. It has a good dark oak colour and a pleasingly period appearance, giving the look of an earlier piece while being a 19th century interpretation of the form.

Well proportioned and very usable, the stool would work well as a small side table, wine table, lamp stand, bedside piece or fireside accent. It is a decorative and practical piece of country furniture, with attractive turning and a nicely aged surface. Some elements may incorporate earlier oak, though the stool should be regarded overall as a 19th century piece.

Condition:
Very good condition overall. Solid and usable, with no notable structural issues. The stool has good colour and presents very well, with minor age-related marks and wear in keeping with use. As noted, it is a 19th century stool in the 17th century style, rather than a late 17th century example.
