A superb Louis XV mid 18th century (circa 1750) French petite secretaire en pente in the manner of BVRB.This secretaire en pente, veneered on oak, the front and sides with tulipwood ground with inlaid Kingwood bois-de-bout marquetry and quarter cut Kingwood bandings, the back of quarter cut tulipwood and Kingwood banding, all with superb ormolu foliate mounts to the top, front and sides.The fall opening to reveal a tooled red leather writing surface with fitted interior consisting of pigeon holes, drawers and secret sliding compartment all supported on four elegant cabriole legs with ormolu foliate mounts and terminating with ormolu sabot feet.
