Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Egyptian Revival jewellery refers to decorative pieces inspired by ancient Egyptian iconography, motifs, and imagery. The style emerged in waves during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, particularly following Napoleons Egyptian campaign and the discovery of Tutankhamuns tomb in 1922.

These functional objects were typically crafted from gilt metal, sterling silver, silver gilt, or gold, often decorated with cold or vitreous enamelling. Internal mechanisms utilized brass, steel, or graphite lead holders to allow smooth extension and retraction.

Authentic period examples often display characteristic period hallmarks or makers marks, wear consistent with age, and precise enamel application. Mechanical integrity, crisp cast details, and specific internal lead sizes also help distinguish genuine antique pieces from modern reproductions.

These compact items can be worn as a statement pendant on an Albert chain, watch fob, or modern necklace strand. Alternatively, collectors display them on antique watch stands or inside velvet-lined miniature cabinets.

Clean gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints and surface dust. Avoid liquid metal polishes or ultrasonic cleaners, as harsh chemicals and immersion can damage delicate enamel and internal mechanical components.
