Birmingham 1901 Solid Silver Oval Salt with Cobalt Blue Glass Liner.

Description

Birmingham 1901 English hallmarked solid silver oval jardinière shaped salt with blue glass liner, made by William Oliver.

The scalloped top edges descent to a very nice scrolled leafy repousse decoration to the side lobes, and the whole stands on a plain foot.

This salt is not perfect. There is a small separation along the top edge of the solder line on one side, and one wear through hole to a pattern high point, on a lower side below the curve, minimising visibility. However, it is in very usable condition, and still very attractive as shown. It has been priced accordingly.

Size-2.75 inches long by 2 inches wide by 1.5 inches high.

Weight-60 grams with liner. 25 grams silver only.

A good value salt.
