Antique Metalware 18thc Brass Single Quality Candlestick with Detachable Sconce. English C1740-50.

Description

They don't come any better than this fine example of an early mid 18thc brass single candlestick, it came from a very good private collection and is of the quality you would expect to find on silver examples of this age...the base is slightly raised with a step in each corner...the seamed stem has a ridged rounded knop at the base and a larger shaped "scalloped " knop at the top of the stem....as if that is not enough the petal shaped sconce is detachable...and original. This charming candlestick is in very good condition with no repairs or damage...even I would have liked to have kept it for a little longer...certainly one for the collection...!
