A stunning rare large French antique solid silver chain link purse or handbag. It is hallmarked with French boar head marks, 800 silver standard. I would date it to c1900. It has been superbly designed and is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, no holes. It measures approx. 5.25 inches (13.2cm) across by the same long excluded the chain and weighs 158 grams. A very high quality impressive example.
