A large mid 19th century (circa 1860) French carved giltwood stool with shaped upholstered seat.

This decorative stool consists of a shaped upholstered seat finished in a neutral linen fabric, in very good condition.

This leads down to a carved giltwood base of serpentine form with carved foliate and ribbon decoration supported on four cabriole legs with acanthus carved decoration terminating with scroll feet, stamped 'LOIDRAULT FRERES PARIS'.

This stool is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home - this could be used as a stool in a lounge or bedroom or maybe a versatile coffee table etc.
