Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Edwardian set comprises six hallmarked silver shot glasses housed in their original presentation box. The individual drinking vessels feature a flared, tapered body with twin side handles, presenting a clean polished silver finish arranged neatly in rows inside the container. The storage box includes a vibrant blue velvet base lining complemented by matching blue silk upholstery gathered on the interior lid, where stamped gilt text appears near the top. Each item measures 5 cm high, 5 cm wide, and 5 cm deep. Designed as barware for a gentleman's library or study, the set works well displayed on a sideboard top during evening gatherings. The pieces offer a traditional addition to glassware collections, serving drinks while providing historical character for contemporary interiors. Maintenance involves standard silver care to preserve the polished appearance of the metal components.

FAQs

Manufactured during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, Edwardian silver shot glasses, often termed spirit tots or liqueur cups, were designed for serving small measures of spirits during formal dining or social gatherings.

These items were typically crafted from solid sterling silver or high-grade electroplated nickel silver, frequently featuring raised twin handles and presented in velvet and silk-lined fitted presentation cases.

Authentic British sterling silver pieces feature official assay hallmarks, including a makers mark, purity mark, town mark, and date letter denoting the exact year of manufacture between 1901 and 1910.

Display them on a silver tray within a home bar cabinet, alongside crystal decanters on a sideboard, or leave the original presentation box open on a drinks trolley for visual interest.

Clean gentle tarnish using a soft microfibre cloth and specialised silver polish, avoiding abrasive substances, and store them within their fabric-lined presentation box to prevent oxidisation.
