Description

An excellent quality small Georgian figured mahogany bureau, the flap inlaid with satinwood and fan motifs to the four corners and shell inlay to the centre . The top, flap and drawers are all inlaid with boxwood and ebony. The flap & oak lined drawers have ornate brass escutcheons and handles. The interior is nicely fitted with a small cupboard door inlaid with classical shell motif and six small drawers, all inlaid with satinwood. The flap as often happens has slightly warped over the years. The writing surface is lined with green baize, and the bureau stands on shaped bracket feet.
