This 18th century Georgian marriage plate is tin-glazed earthenware decorated in blue and white with hand-painted cobalt oxide. The circular dish has a central foliate cartouche enclosing handwritten inscriptions that name Philip and Mary Smith, the date 1747, and the location Geldeston.
