ANTIQUE #SA1204495

A Fine Pair Of French Empire Period Gilt Bronze And Marble Candlesticks.

£975    $1,333    €1,127
A very stylish and high quality pair of early 19th century French Empire candlesticks.

These eye catching pieces are made from mellow Carrara marble, which is cut into rectangular polished sections forming the bases and columns. They are mounted throughout in gilt bronze with decorative bases, feet, mouldings, and applied patra.

Above, the top section is in solid gilt bronze, forming detailed candle holders with separate removable sconces.

These very rare candlesticks are in excellent original condition. The fine gilt mounts show some pleasing signs of age with a lovely patina and display very nicely against the mellow, richly coloured marble.

French circa 1830

Height 17cm x width 6.8cm x depth 6.1cm
