Antique Figured Walnut Chest on Chest of Drawers

Description

A stunning antique figured walnut chest on chest of drawers. This was made in England, we would date it from around the 1890-1910 period.

The quality is superb, this is a great size and offers lots of storage space, with a leather top pull out sliding shelf in the middle. There is a lovely moulded cornice, the drawers have fine, hand cut dovetailed joints, and this sits on bracket feet. The drawer fronts are cross banded, the front edges are grooved and canted, this has high quality brass handles and escutcheons.

We have had this re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is lovely for its age. There is a beautiful overall patina with various small marks and small signs of historical wear here and there.

The top lifts right off the base and this comes in two halves for ease of transport.
