This eighteenth-century Georgian Norfolk chest of drawers is constructed from walnut veneers and an oak frame, finished in a warm brown tone. The layout incorporates two small drawers on either side of a central small cupboard at the top, positioned above three long graduated drawers below. Details visible include figured burr walnut veneers with crossbanded drawer fronts, an inlaid arch detail on the central cupboard door, turned etched brass teardrop handles, and a plinth base standing on bracket feet. The chest measures 94 cm high, 79 cm wide, and 48 cm deep. In a contemporary home, this piece suits placement in a bedroom, hallway, or living area as a practical storage chest for clothing or linens. The solid construction and traditional English country house style allow it to function as a focal point against neutral walls while providing accessible drawer space.

Georgian regional furniture refers to pieces crafted across provincial England during the 18th century, combining high-style London design influences with local timber preferences such as native oak and walnut, often featuring robust construction tailored for country homes.

Eighteenth-century chests typically feature secondary woods like oak or pine for drawer linings, hand-cut dovetail joints, walnut or mahogany veneers, and solid brass hardware including teardrop handles and engraved escutcheons.

Authentic pieces show irregular hand-cut dovetails, thick hand-sawn veneers, pine or oak drawer bottoms with grain running front-to-back or side-to-side, hand-cast brass fittings, and genuine age-related wear around feet and handles.

Position the chest as a focal point in a hallway or bedroom, paired with contemporary abstract artwork above and simple architectural ceramics on top to balance historical craftsmanship with clean modern lines.

Maintain stable humidity levels to prevent wood shrinkage or veneer lifting, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, avoiding modern chemical sprays and direct sunlight.
