Description

An interesting and particularly fine quality French SILVER SNUFF BOX in superb original condition. This gorgeous box is engraved to the lid with twin Oriental scenes within a scrolled border which is highlighted with coloured enamel. All four sides and the base are further engraved with handsome decoration within scrolled edges, whilst the thumbpiece is cast with a winged cherub. The gilded interior is engraved with an interesting presentation message which is dated 1844. Clear French hallmarks to one edge and to the centre of the inside of the lid. 8.5 cms wide; 113 grms.
