A refined Regency-period Worcester porcelain taperstick by Flight Barr & Barr, circa 1820, exquisitely decorated with a finely painted landscape vignette with figures, reserved on a deep cobalt blue ground enriched with delicate gilt seaweed ornament. The tray is finished with gadrooned gilt borders, centred by a raised candle socket with a fluted gilt rim, and fitted with an elegant loop handle with anthemion mount.
Marks: red script for the London retailing address, “Royal Porcelain Works… No. 1 Coventry Street.”
Dimensions: 10.5 cm diameter; 5.5 cm high.
Condition: excellent overall; no damage and no glaze crazing; only minimal wear to gilding on the high points.
