Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kirghiz felt panels originate from Central Asian nomadic communities, created around the turn of the 20th century and earlier to insulate, decorate, and partition yurts. Artisans crafted these pieces using sheeps wool felt decorated with hand-stitched embroidery and applique, featuring symbolic motifs derived from pastoral life.

Traditional Kirghiz panels were constructed from compressed felted sheep wool, stitched together using hand-spun wool or cotton threads. The vibrant shades of red, ochre, and brown were achieved using natural plant, insect, and mineral dyes native to the region.

Authentic period panels display hand-spun irregularities in the wool thread, subtle colour variations from natural dyes, and traditional stylized motifs such as rams horns (muiz) and diamond lattices. The stitching displays hand-done variations rather than uniform machine work.

These textiles are frequently mounted on linen frames, hung as decorative wall panels, or displayed as focal art pieces above furniture. Their rich colour palettes and geometric structures complement both contemporary minimalist interiors and eclectic, textured rooms.

Felt textiles should be displayed away from direct sunlight to prevent natural dyes from fading. Cleaning should be limited to gentle suction with a soft brush attachment, avoiding water or harsh chemicals, and consulting a textile conservator for repair.
