A rare and whimsical example of late 19th-century novelty silver, this sterling snuff shoe is as charming as it is collectible. Crafted in the form of an ornate high-heeled shoe, it features elaborate repoussé decoration including romantic scenes of cherubs, courting couples, and a fairytale-like landscape.

The interior retains a soft gold wash to protect contents and add a luxurious touch. Hallmarked in London in 1900, this elegant piece may have once held finely ground snuff - a fashionable habit of the Victorian elite.
