Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 1960s, fine jewellers created whimsical animal brooches featuring expressive poses and detailed surface texturing. Designers combined high-carat gold with precious gemstone eyes and accents to produce tactile, sculpted pieces.

Mid-century fine brooches were primarily crafted from 18ct or 9ct yellow gold, frequently finished with wirework or chased textures. Accent stones typically included cabochon rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and brilliant-cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces by Ben Rosenfeld feature specific makers marks, often stamped with B&R alongside British assay hallmarks indicating the gold purity and date letter. The intricate wirework and gemstone settings also reflect high-standard goldsmithing.

A vintage brooch can be attached to the lapel of a tailored blazer, pinned to a heavy wool coat, or secured through a silk scarf. It can also be worn on the collar of a button-down shirt or fastened to a structured handbag.

Clean textured gold using a soft-bristled brush with warm water and mild dish soap to remove dust from crevices. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, steam, or ultrasonic treatments if cabochon gemstones are present, and store separately to prevent scratching.
