Rare American Sterling Silver Trinity Church Castle Top Card Case C1850 Antique

Description

A beautiful American solid silver Trinity Church New York castle top card case. It is unmarked but tests as high grade silver. I would date it to c1850 possibly sold as an early souvenir piece not long after the church was completed. It has been superbly made with one side depicting Trinity Church the other a bird and the engraved initials MPS. It is in superb condition being free from dings, splits, holes and repairs. It measures approx. 3.5 inches (8.8cm) long by 2.5 inches (6.2cm) wide and weighs 46 grams. A beautifully designed high quality example.
