A Victorian brass log bin is a hearthside storage container produced during the nineteenth century, constructed from wood and wrapped in brass sheet metal decorated with relief scenes or foliate motifs.

These boxes were constructed with a solid timber carcass covered in sheet brass that was hand-hammered or pressed from the reverse side to create raised repousse artwork across the exterior surfaces.
