Early 20th Century Vintage Firth Silver Plate Grapefruit Citrus Fruit Knife & Spoon Set in Original Presentation Box

A handsome vintage Firth fruit service, comprising of one serrated fruit / grapefruit knive and six matching fruit spoons, presented in the original fitted case.

The knife is clearly stamped “Firth Stainless”, confirming stainless steel blade rather than silver. This is correct and desirable for citrus and fruit use, as stainless blades resist acidity and staining. The blades feature fine serration, ideal for cutting grapefruit, oranges, and other soft fruits.

The knife handle is finished in a cream faux bone / ivorine-style material, typical of good-quality mid-20th-century tableware, giving the set a refined and traditional appearance.

The accompanying spoons are silver plated (not solid silver). No sterling hallmarks are present, which is entirely consistent with this type of fruit service. The spoons match the knives well in both scale and design, creating a complete and balanced set.

All pieces show light surface wear and gentle marks consistent with age and careful use. There are no bent spoons or damaged handles. The knives remain straight and functional.

The original presentation case is included and displays well. It shows expected age-related wear to the exterior and lining, but remains structurally sound with functioning clasps. This adds to the authenticity and period charm of the set.
