Victorian Birmingham 1895 Hallmarked Silver and Onyx Match Strike or Striker.

Description

Birmingham 1895 English hallmarked solid silver and onyx match strike or striker by Arthur and James Zimmerman of Regent Place in Birmingham. The generous silver mount includes the collar as well as an inner cup.

Size-2.75 inches diameter by 2.25 inches high.

Weight-350 grams.

More often found in glass, this is an unusual and attractive combination.

This match strike is still functional for its original use, as well as being a lovely table or desk ornament, often also doubling as a paper weight.

In very good condition, this is a much sought after collectable, and would also make a great gift.

Dark areas on silver are reflections from photography.
