Her Highness Princess Carolina

A Georgian reverse glass mezzotint print by John Faber Jr. (1694-1756) after the painting by Hans Hysing (1678-1752). Circa 1740.

Princess Caroline Elizabeth (1713-1757) was the third daughter of George II. Born in Hanover she moved to England when her grandfather George I ascended to the British throne. After the death of Queen Caroline in 1737 she took on the upbringing of her sisters Mary and Louisa.

This antique Georgian reverse glass print is presented in a contemporary ebonised frame and is available to view at our London antique shop on Kensington Church Street.

These artworks were constructed using mouth-blown crown glass, paper engravings or mezzotints, translucent oil pigments, and varnish fixatives, housed within moulded timber frames.
