This is a handsome long and narrow Sarab runner from North-West Persia, dating to around 1900. Woven on a wool foundation, with a soft glossy wool pile, it has the classic design associated with this desirable group. A row of terracotta anchor medallions float above a camel ground, surrounded by further abstract geometric ornamentation and framed by narrow geometric borders. There are lots of lovely colours, shades of pink, ivory, pale blue and green. This piece has survived in excellent condition. Solid durable pile. Professionally cleaned. This is an ideal option for a long corridor or hallway.
