A handsome good solid mid 18th century George II oak chest of drawers.
C.1750.
The two short, and three long graduating drawers with cock-beading are oak lined, with dove-tail construction. Beautifully decorated to the front, with rosewood cross-banding to each drawer and drawer dividers, which contrasts very nicely with the rich warm colour of the oak.
Retaining the original brass escutcheons and hand made iron locks. With very attractive replacement brass handles, with lion mask detail, which are from the later George III period.
The oak has developed a rich warm colour and characterful patina over the many centuries.
Standing on bracket feet.
In excellent antique condition. Very solid sturdy and strong, with each drawer being very solid and strong and opening smoothly and easily. Expected signs of age.
