Description

A magnificent and large antique burr walnut leather top partners desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1920 period.

It is of superb quality with an absolutely stunning design. It is a great size, the top edges have wonderful gadrooned carving, and there is a beautiful inset three sectioned leather writing surface. There are high quality brass handles, the drawers have fine, hand cut dovetailed joints, inlaid borders and cross banded fronts. The back is identical to the front, with five drawers on both sides. This sits on amazing cabriole legs with incredibly finely carved acanthus leaves at the knees, terminating in claw and ball feet. This looks amazing from all angles, the panelled sides have lovely moulded borders. The burr walnut has a beautiful, mellow colour tone and stunning grain patterns.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
