London 1861 Solid Silver Unusual Butter Knife by Famous Maker George Adams.

Description

Beautiful and heavy Victorian English hallmarked solid silver master butter knife made by famous maker George Adams, having very clear hallmarks.

This lovely double struck knife has a wonderful shaped threaded edge blade engraved with a foliate and leaf design. The stem is fluted and has a diagonal leaf design that twists around the stem, and terminates with a leafy pointed terminal.

The reverse of the blade has a wonderful wreath adorning the heel.

Size-7.25 inches long by 1 1/8 inches wide.

Weight-50 grams.

A lovely, beautifully designed and heavy butter knife in very good condition, made by a sought after and very collectable maker.

Very useful also for cheese and pate.

This would be an asset to use with your silver plate or solid silver butter dish, or would make a lovely gift.
