Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
Fitted to one end is a excellent silver propelling pencil, set with an attractive Carnelian seal top, which remains unengraved. To the top of the rule is a beautiful cabochon set Garnet slider, which facilitates the sealing wax, housed at the opposite end to be moved down the interior of the rule for use. A wonderful, interesting piece of silver desk ware and a great collector's item. Dimensions below.
