Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late Victorian era, silversmiths created decorative sewing accessories shaped as whimsical items, including sledges, shoes, and animals. These silver novelty pin cushions functioned as needlework tools and decorative display items for sewing tables.

These pieces were typically cast or chased in sterling silver or silver plate and fitted with a stuffed fabric pad. The cushions were covered in textiles such as velvet or silk, frequently in deep jewel tones such as purple, crimson, or green.

Authentic British silver items feature hallmarks denoting the purity mark, city mark, makers initials, and a date letter. Genuine pieces display crisp repousse or chased detail along with natural oxidisation in the recessed surfaces.

A small silver pin cushion functions well as a decorative accent on a dressing table, desk, or curated shelf display. Its detailed metalwork adds historical texture when grouped with other vintage metal objects or vanity trays.

Dust the item gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth and buff the metal with a silver polishing cloth. Avoid using liquid polishes near the fabric cushion, and store the piece in a dry environment to prevent tarnishing and textile degradation.
