Description

North west persia, circa 1900.

Long kurdish rug called a kelleh in the trade with six central bar medallions on a dark brown/black ground.

Notice the geometric type ''scarab beetle'' motifs to each corner inside the field and inside each central medallion & to the ten smaller medallions.

A quirky & imaginative kurdish weaving.

Hand washed with even stopped fringes and partially rebound side cords. All over low even pile. Ready to go straight into home.

9 foot 6 inches by 4 foot 2 inches. 291cm X 127cm. At widest points. Fringes not measured in size. All woollen construction.
