Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A chuval is a large, rectangular tribal bag traditionally hand-woven by nomadic women in Central Asia. These pieces were used inside felt tents for storing household goods, bedding, and possessions.

Authentic pieces are crafted entirely from hand-spun sheeps wool, frequently utilizing vegetable and natural insect dyes such as madder root to achieve deep madder reds and dark tones, woven with fine symmetrical knots on wool foundations.

Authentication relies on examining the handle, natural dye variations, wool quality, structure of the selvages, and characteristic tribal motifs such as guls, combined with microscopic analysis of the fiber degradation and knotting density.

These heavily patterned textiles can be mounted professionally as wall hangings to serve as focal art pieces, placed over heavy wooden furniture, or used as small accent floor coverings in low-traffic areas.

Preservation requires keeping the textile out of direct sunlight to prevent dye fading, vacuuming gently with a mesh screen cover at low suction, and avoiding chemical cleaners or excessive moisture.
