Authentic Baluch rugs are crafted primarily from hand-spun wool, which is used for both the pile and the woven foundation. Weavers historically utilised natural plant dyes to produce signature dark reds, deep indigos, and rich walnut browns.

Authentic Baluch rugs typically feature a soft, flexible handle, geometric motifs, and flat-woven kilim skirts at the ends. The colour scheme leans heavily towards dark, saturated tones rather than light or vibrant synthetic shades.

A Baluch rug provides texture and grounding when placed in a hallway corridor, beneath a coffee table, or alongside leather seating in dark academia or modern eclectic interiors. Layering it over neutral jute flooring creates a textured, collected aesthetic.
