Antique Oak Arts and Crafts Bureau Bookcase

An attractive Edwardian Arts & Crafts bureau bookcase. The upper section features twin glazed doors with geometric leaded glass panes, opening to reveal two fixed interior shelves. Beneath is a fall-front leather writing surface supported by shaped gallery sides, opening to a fitted interior with pigeonholes and dividers for stationery and documents.The lower section comprises a bank of drawers — two small drawers over three full-width drawers — all fitted with period copper handles. The piece stands on a plinth base and includes a working lock and key for the upper cabinet. A well-proportioned and practical piece in solid oak, displaying a warm colour and patina throughout.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and scratches throughout the piece. No apparent cracks or chips to the glazed doors. The bureau bookcase is structurally sound and sound with no major losses. All drawers are running smoothly. A good example.
