Genuine pair of Victorian brass candlesticks, circa 1887, stamped marks on both;
THE ACE OF DIAMONDS
In excellent condition with no damage or repair, complete with push button ejector system.
These large heavy 14'' core cast hand finished candlesticks pushed the boat out for this manufacturing process, so Aces do often have a varying degrees of small insignificant manufacturing faults, textures, and surface marks although this pair are virtually without fault, a small pocket of lead infill on the neck of one base, see last photo.
14'' or 355mm tall, weight 2212 grams
Not recently cleaned or polished.
Produced by James Clews and Sons of Manilla Works, 195 Aston Road, Birmingham to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887 commemorating the Queens Coronation on 28 June 1837 at Westminster Abbey.
The largest of the series of Diamond candlesticks by this maker and far and away the hardest to find compared to Kings, Queens,Princes & Princesses.
