The fall front opens to reveal a well-fitted interior with drawers, cubby holes and a central cupboard, ideal for organising papers and stationery. Beneath are five graduating drawers, all sliding smoothly and offering generous storage.
The bureau displays a rich, original patina, developed over two centuries of polishing, giving warmth, depth and character to the wood. Solidly constructed, it remains both practical and elegant – perfectly proportioned for use as a working desk, including with a laptop.
