A superb quality antique late Victorian mahogany and inlaid dressing table stool or piano stool dating from circa 1895. It has an oval stuff-over upholstered seat and stands on square tapered and shaped legs united by a curved x-shaped cross stretcher. The feet terminate in good quality solid brass Cope & Collinson casters, which are in good order. The mahogany frame has a good warm patina and is inlaid with satinwood stringing in a Sheraton revival design. The traditional horsehair upholstery is sound and has been newly recovered, the frame very solid and sturdy. Stamped with an “FF” monogram to the underside of the frame.
