A whisky tot, also known as a noggin, is a small individual decanter or jug designed to hold a single measure of spirits, popular in British households during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

These items typically feature blown or cut lead crystal glass bodies fitted with sterling silver mounts, hinged lids, and occasionally an attached silver spirit label on a chain.

Authenticity is determined by examining the clear hallmarks stamped on the silver mount, which indicate the makers mark, assay office, purity standard, and date letter, alongside period-appropriate hand-cut glass bases.

This piece works well displayed on a bar cart, side table, or within a cabinet, adding a touch of period craftsmanship and metallic reflection to contemporary decor schemes.

The crystal should be washed by hand in lukewarm soapy water using a soft brush, while the silver mounts require gentle cleaning with a non-abrasive silver cloth to avoid touching the glass.
