Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

Toast racks emerged in England during the mid-18th century as a functional dining accessory designed to keep slices of hot toast crisp by preventing condensation from accumulating on the plates.

Preserve antique silver by gently washing it with warm water and mild soap when necessary, avoiding abrasive dips or harsh chemical polishes, and storing it in anti-tarnish cloths in a low-humidity environment.

It can be styled as a functional objet dart on a dining table, displayed within a glass-fronted cabinet, or utilised creatively on a sideboard as a holder for letters, napkins, or small stationery.

Authenticity is verified by examining the hallmarks for period-appropriate stamps, checking for signs of genuine wear and patina consistent with age, and assessing the weight and construction methods typical of historical silversmithing.

These items are traditionally fabricated from sterling silver using techniques such as silversmithing, wire-forming, soldering, and casting, often finished with polished surfaces and hallmarks stamped for assay office, date, and maker.
