Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Murano glass lighting from the 1920s and 1930s is characterised by traditional Venetian techniques combined with emerging modernist design aesthetics, often featuring hand-blown coloured glass elements and intricate sculptural forms.

These fixtures typically feature mouth-blown silicate glass mounted on metal frames, brass fixings, or internal wiring components characteristic of the periods manufacturing standards.

Authenticity is assessed by examining pontil marks, minor asymmetries indicative of hand-blowing, glass weight, chemical colouration within the matrix, and period-appropriate wiring or structural hardware.

They can be integrated as statement accent lighting against neutral or textured plaster walls to introduce soft colour, ambient illumination, and mid-century Italian character to living spaces or hallways.

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive materials to protect the delicate glass surface and metallic finishes.
