This Edwardian partners desk dates from 1900 in the Sheraton Revival style, attributed to the maker Edwards and Roberts. The piece incorporates mahogany, satinwood and rosewood timbers in a warm brown tone with extensive marquetry panelling, floral scrollwork and central urn inlays. Nine drawers are arranged in two side banks of four flanking a central drawer, fitted with small brass ring pull handles on backplates. The curved kidney-shaped writing surface has a red tooled leather insert. The entire structure stands on square tapered legs. Measuring 76 cm high, 121 cm wide and 56 cm deep, the unit provides a compact surface suitable for administrative tasks.
