FAQs

During the Victorian era, advancements in industrial manufacturing allowed for the mass production of metal bedframes, prized for their hygiene and durability compared to traditional wooden alternatives.

These beds typically combined heavy cast iron frames with structural wrought iron components, finished with polished brass finials, rails, and decorative castings.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-poured iron joints, authentic component numbering, substantial weight, and genuine patina on the brass elements rather than modern electroplated finishes.

Pairing the industrial structure of the bed frame with soft, neutral linens and minimalist textiles creates a balanced focal point that suits both traditional and modern bedroom schemes.

Dust regularly with a dry microfiber cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners which can strip protective lacquers or damage the vintage metal finish.
