Antique English Oval Sterling Silver Ring Box for Two Rings - 1901

Description

An absolutely charming small sterling silver ring box with an all-over embossed or repousse decoration and the lid having a vacant cartouche in the centre of the domed lid, this could be engraved by your silversmith if desired.

The lid fits well and when opened reveals the blue velvet lined interior fitted to accommodate two rings.

Hallmarked for Birmingham 1901, so an early Edwardian example. The makers initials H M are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews. Excellent condition, measuring 3 3/4" x 1 1/4" deep x 1" tall.
