Huge Swirled Glass Inkwell - Sterling Silver Top - 1922

Description

A wonderful and impressive large inkwell created from a hefty chunk of glass beautifully decorated in a very stylish swirl design; the base is star cut.

The lid is sterling silver with a hinged lid and containing a removable glass ink chamber. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1922. The makers initials are also present, S.J.L & Co. for the silversmith, S J Levi & Co.

Wonderful condition without cracks or chips (one tiny rough spot / bruise identified if you move your hands over the surface), insignificant but mentioned for accuracy.

An magnificent size, measuring 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" tall.
