Description

Very nice pair of brass single beds can be joined. We felt it a shame to not make use of these two lovely head ends of brass beds which were brought to us for saving. We have adapted the side rails to take a bed base or wooden slats, and fashioned a foot end for them.

This lovely pair of single beds can be joined to make an occasional super king size bed – joiners included. A nice option to have for guest or spare rooms.

The naturally aged brass gives a nice patina, all very sturdy and solid.

We have meticulously and expertly cleaned and restored this beautiful pair of beds. We have ensured all components are back to their original tightness and solid construction.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Antique brass beds, popular throughout the Victorian and Edwardian eras, typically feature metal tubing, cast joints, and decorative finials, transitioning from purely functional iron frames to ornate decorative centerpieces.

These beds are constructed using brass tubing, often over an iron core for structural integrity, connected by heavy brass castings at the joints and corners to allow for easy assembly and dismantling.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor surface wear, heavier construction compared to modern replicas, traditional casting seams, and original bolted fixings rather than contemporary screws.

They can be balanced in modern spaces by pairing them with crisp, neutral linens and minimalist decor to highlight the metallic warmth and historical character without overwhelming the room.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding harsh chemical polishes that can strip the protective lacquer or vintage patina.
