This is an impressive 78 piece Canteen – Old English Pattern (12 place settings) - Hallmark: London 1950 by C J Vander – Weight: 6055 grams (194 tr.oz.) -

The Coburg pattern was first produced in around 1810 by London's great silversmith Paul Storr, of Rundell, Bridge & Rundell. This rich and dignified Regency design combines shells, scrolls and scales and has always been a very favoured pattern due to its elegant and simple form. It has been produced continually to the present day with a resurgence of popularity in the 20th Century.

This 78-piece service consists of the following:

12 Dessert Spoons (18.2cm)

12 Table/dinner Knives (25cm)

12 Teaspoons (12.5cm)

12 Table/dinner Forks (20.5cm)

12 Fish Knives (22cm)

12 Dessert Forks (19cm)

Total weight of weighable silver: 5040 grams (162 troy ounces). Additional to this weight are the 12 silver handled knives with stainless steel blades.

Condition

Near mint condition. There are no personalised engravings and every piece has been professionally polished as new.

Presentation

This service is superbly presented in there original cloth pouches, that they have been stored in since new.

A very desirable Canteen circa late 20th century of very high quality in the highly desirable Coburg pattern in Solid Silver with 24 carat gold overlay or parcel gilding.

They were made in Sheffield in 1990 by this quality silversmith, known for making very highly very high end pieces "C J Vander"

Very presentable and are in very good condition and ready for immediate display and use. As we have stated these are of very good gauge of silver weighing 6055 Grams 194 Ounces of solid sterling Silver.
