We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Georgian design spans the reigns of the four Kings George (1714 to 1830), characterised by classical proportions, meticulous craftsmanship, and often drawing inspiration from Palladian, Rococo, or neoclassical motifs.

These small items were typically housed in cases made from sterling silver, mother-of-pearl, bone, ivory, or turned wood, enclosing a hand-pulled silk ribbon or linen tape.

Authentic pieces usually feature hallmarks stamped into the metal, indicating the assay office, makers mark, standard of silver purity, and a date letter corresponding to the active period.

Small collectable metalware and sewing implements look exceptional when displayed within a glass-fronted cabinet, on a desk top, or styled amongst books on a shelf as part of a curated vignette.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a specialist non-abrasive silver cloth to preserve patination and engravings, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip historical ageing.
