Rare golden yellows for the background on this beautiful antique Heriz rug, woven in the late 19th century with tribal motifs and well drawn animals and trees. Over 130 years old and still with a good pile height all over, washed and ready to be used on the floor. The design and colours are wonderful and Heriz rugs are incredibly tough and beautiful decorative antique rugs. Both fringes have had minimal restoration to reweave a couple of centimetres at each end, done expertly and help preserve the beauty of this ancient rug.
