Rare George Murray Newcastle Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs C1810 Georgian

Description

Rare English antique solid sterling silver sugar tongs. They are hallmarked for Newcastle with the makers marks unusually being struck twice, these are the marks of George Murray who worked 1805 - 1816. They have been superbly designed with the letters MM engraved to their bow. They are in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. They measure approx. 5.75 inches (14.7cms) long and weigh 36 grams. Beautifully made very unusual examples.
